Wishing you had the time and space to finally sit down and bring your ideas to life?

Craving a writing routine that feels nourishing instead of a battle against distractions?

Dreaming of a quiet escape where your mind can breathe and your words can flow?

Ready to swap stress for stillness, deadlines for deep dives, and caffeine-fueled chaos for inspiration and ease?

How your Writing Residence flows...

Your days here unfold at your own rhythm, guided by creativity, movement, and the simple joy of being present. Imagine waking up to the sounds of nature, stretching into the morning with a warm cup of coffee before settling into your writing. The words come easier when there’s nothing pulling you away. No distractions, no noise, just the quiet hum of inspiration. When you need a break, step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and reset with a walk through the gardens or a quiet moment under the trees.

The afternoons are yours to shape, whether you dive deeper into your work, find stillness in a yoga session, or reflect on your progress with a fresh perspective. Evenings invite you to wind down with thoughtful conversation, gentle movement, or a moment of solitude under the stars. Lucy Paget

Healer | Author | Osteopath | Yoga Instructor

Lucy is a creator, a writer, a mother and a wellness maven (an osteopath and a yoga teacher). She lives at Apothefinca with her children and animals.

Lucy’s life has been peppered with all sorts of adventures. She was born in England and moved to Canada as a teenager, where she went to school and got her first degree, fell in love with the mountains, learned to teach yoga, built a successful business, and started a family—not necessarily in that order.

For many years, Lucy’s full-time work was as an osteopath, but she always wrote in her spare time. She brought a beautiful idea to life when she opened and ran an award-winning wellness clinic but although she was successful professionally, her creative yearnings were not satiated by the short bursts of time in which she wrote.

It was the experience of an incredible loss and subsequent burnout that finally led her to prioritise putting words on the page. Writing acted as a bridge for Lucy; the world on the page Lucy wrote about enabled her to take extraordinary steps in her life to change everything - to focus entirely on writing, to move country with her children, to leave a marriage, and build an off grid home and farm, Apothefinca, where she now lives and works, writing a memoir infused with nature writing (to be published November 2025), called The Home Tree.

“At Apothefinca, we believe that true wellness comes from reconnecting with the earth and our own inner rhythms. By blending movement, mindful practices, and nature’s healing power, we create a space where guests can reset, grow, and find balance. My goal is to guide you on a journey of self-discovery and renewal, offering tools to nurture your body, mind, and spirit long after the retreat ends.”

Sustainability and healing are at the heart of our philosophy, here at Apothefinca

The farm is a sanctuary for those seeking wellness, with yoga and osteopathic treatments available in a serene tree-top studio. Guests are welcome to explore the organic gardens, learn about medicinal plants, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the natural surroundings. Apothefinca promotes a harmonious balance between human activity and the environment, offering an authentic and immersive retreat experience that nurtures both body and soul.
